Students reside in theme houses for the purpose of bonding around a common theme and sharing their enthusiasm with the campus community. Each house, its theme and amenities are unique. There is a Residence Life staff member assigned to each house who, in addition to fulfilling administrative tasks, is responsible for building community through programming and advocating for their community’s needs and interests. A faculty or staff member at W&L who embraces the theme also serves as an adviser to each theme house.
Whether it's community service, langu年龄 and culture, sustainability or a deep-seated love of outdoor recreation, you can find yourself a true home at W&L. The great thing about the houses in place today is that they were started by passionate students looking for a deeper sense of community.

ARC(艺术), Recreation and Culture) House is designed to create an environment that fosters an appreciation for the arts, 自然, recreation and culture in and beyond the Washington and Lee community.

查维斯的房子 provides a physical space on campus where African-originated, African American and other American ethnic/种族 minority cultures and traditions are actively appreciated. It is meant to be "open" space, a meaningful social outlet and a shared resource.
Students with different personal, 专业, academic and social interests are welcome to live in the 探索性的房子. Students will be able to share their interests while learning about the interests of others through intentional programming and house meetings. Students may also collaborate to plan and implement relevant programs utilizing various resources around campus and the Lexington community. Programming may include topics about career exploration, 个人优点, 领导风格, and diversity and inclusion.
The Global Service House provides a focus for internationalism, a locale for increased cross-cultural eng年龄ment, and a visible home for service activity. Its basement is home to the W大学校园厨房&L, which plays a major part in providing meals for the food-insecure in Rockbridge County.
Nuestro Hogar Latino aims to provide a community and environment in which Latinx cultures, issues and identities are promoted and acknowledged. The house serves as a space to celebrate the commonalities and differences within a Latinx identity which is inclusive of all ethnic, 种族, linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
可持续性 House members partner with the W&L community and the greater community to examine their own role — both in a local and global sense — in building a more sustainable world.
欧斯的房子 is committed to providing residential and social space for solidarity among students of the African diaspora and their allies, community activism for voices that have traditionally been silenced and lacked representation, and consistently seeking revelations of truth in our communities and histories.
A recovery support residence where students who have had past problems with alcohol or substances and are committed to abstinence recovery can live during the academic year. Residents are active in the Washingtonian Society, a supportive campus community open to all students.
